The following is to correct errors printed previously in
the Russell News:
Mike Beaty entered the 17th
World Percheron Congress (around 800 Percheron's were
entered) in Des Moines recently.
He won 1st
Place for the Farm Vehicle division with Old Betsy, Chariton's
vintage fire engine. Riding on Old Betsy were Chariton firemen Jim
Larrington and Cody Smith and driving is Mike Beaty.
In other races: Feed team race
(entered 4 times and placed each time), Walking plow-9th, Barnyard pull-6th,
Sulky plow-6th, Log skid-9th, Gamblers choice (obstacle course)-6th. Job well
done, Mike. Our sincere apologies for the errors.
