Russell News

September 6, 2016

The Russell residents can be very proud of Mike Beaty of Russell who took his Farm team and participated in the Farm contest at the Iowa State Fair. He won 1st place in the following categories-High Point (overall total), Log Skidding, Antique Machinery or Vehicle, Barnyard Horse Pull and The Best Matched Team. He took 2nd place in Farm Hitch Obstacle, Cultivator Competition, and the Feed Team Race. (Makes one wonder when he has time to practice all this!)
His grandson Blaine Beaty, got to bring in the team to compete in the Best Match Team (with Grandpa walking right behind him). Blaine did a great job of showing off Grandpa's team. Keep up the good work, Mike and Blaine, and we look forward to your activities at the Iowa State Fair next year.
